Let us introduce you to A Midsummer Night’s Dream Afternoon Tea: "In this enchanted woodland feast, love is a trickster, flavours are a fantasy, and every bite is…a midsummer’s dream…” Surrounding the beautiful courtyard of Taj 51 Buckingham Gate Suites and Residences is one of the world's longest Shakespearean sylvan friezes.
The unique, hand-carved terracotta frieze depicts scenes from some of Shakespeare's most famous plays in intricate detail, including Love's Labour's Lost, As You Like It, Much Ado About Nothing, and, of course, A Midsummer Night’s Dream. Venture beyond the ordinary, where the whisper of trees holds secrets and enchantments swirl like twilight mist. Inspired by the world of Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream, this afternoon tea invites you into a realm where dreams come alive, and magic is never far behind.
In the play, the forest becomes a place of confusion and transformation as four young lovers find themselves caught in the tangled web of magic spun by the fairies. Kona will bring the forest alive for this magical afternoon tea.
At the heart of it all are Oberon, the king of the fairies, and Titania, his queen, whose own rivalry and mischief fuel the enchantments that alter the lives of those around them. Love, illusion, and magic twist together in a night where anything is possible.
The element of surprise will be a delight for all to savour, so enjoy but a furtive glance at what is in store…
